Pricing:

Unlike many of our competitors, we offer straight-forward, competitive pricing. Many companies offer a low “base price” that seems great, until you realize that there are many other “mandatory” added fees, such as drop-off and pick up, fuel surcharges, landfill charges, tipping fees, etc. Our competitive prices include drop-off, pick-up, 1 week rental, and all disposal charges up to the weight limit listed in our regular service area. The only additional charge to our rental price is state and local solid waste management fees, overweight charges, Ramsey and Washington County surcharges, and hazardous or prohibited items. Use the order link above, proceed to the checkout page, and enter your shipping zip code, to show your total price including taxes.

Types of Materials:

We currently offer 2 different types of disposal: Trash and Construction/Demolition debris. Trash includes all household wastes, garbage, furniture (some items extra $), clothing, etc. excluding hazardous or prohibited materials. Demolition includes all construction and remodeling debris, excluding liquid paint, varnish, and hazardous items. Due to staffing issues, we have suspended our concrete, asphalt, dirt, and rock disposal options. If you have disposal needs for materials other than those listed, give us a call, we’ll be happy to help or advise with appropriate options.

Important roll-off rental details

The following are important details you should know when renting our roll-off dumpsters:

Hazardous/Unacceptable Items

The following items cannot be placed in our containers, many are considered hazardous wastes:

Animal wastes, remains, or carcasses; infectious, biological, or pathological wastes

Batteries of any kind, or cordless devices containing batteries

Compressed gas cylinders, propane tanks, kegs, freon tanks/cans, spray cans, helium tanks, etc.

Household appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, ranges, microwaves, A/C units, dehumidifiers, etc.

Tires

If in doubt about anything you want to place in the roll-off, please contact us first. While many items on the prohibited list are uncommon, others are not uncommon when performing activities such as cleaning out a residence, but are not accepted by the facilities we haul to. In the case of some of these items, we may still be able to help you dispose of them, but disposal has to occur separately at a different facility and the items cannot be hauled with the rest of the waste.

Prohibited items found in the dumpster at the time of pickup will be removed by the driver and left behind on your property. Additional fees will be incurred for the driver’s labor to remove the prohibited items from the dumpster. Items discovered at the time of dumping will be dealt with according to the policies of the particular dump site used; this could mean substantial additional fees, and/or the load being rejected and returned to the customer. Our minimum labor charge to handle any of the above is $50, and driver labor to return loads in whole or part, remove prohibited items, balance loads, reloading prohibited items at the time of dumping, etc is charged at $150/hour.

Online Ordering Information

You may place your dumpster order, book the days you need, and pay for your rental, all on our website, without needing to call us! When you’re ready to order your dumpster, click the link above. On the next page, select the dumpster usage and size needed, this will bring you to the booking page. On the booking page, select the start and end dates from the calendar, adjust the quantity of bulk items (household waste dumpsters only), enter placement instructions, and click the book now button at the bottom of the page. This will bring you to the checkout page, which works just like online merchandise orders; the billing address must match your credit card, and the shipping address is the address the dumpster is to be delivered to.

After your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email. Throughout your rental, several other emails will be sent with additional information about delivery, prohibited items, and pick-up procedures, and a final email after the rental is complete. If you have questions at any point in this process, feel free to reply to any of the emails, text, or call our office.

Please note that all rentals made online are subject to a $50 cancellation fee ($100 if cancelled within 2 business days of scheduled delivery).

Delivery

Dumpsters are generally placed on hard surfaces, out of the right of way, such as a driveway. As roll-offs “roll off” the truck, the area the dumpster is placed requires a clear space in front of it for the truck to deliver it, such as a street surface, driveway, etc. The length typically needed for dumpster placement is about 45 feet. Dumpsters can be placed on soft surfaces (grass, gravel, etc.) at customer discretion. Dumpsters are heavy, and even our smaller trucks delivering them are heavy as well, so damage is likely on soft surfaces. Boards are placed under the rear rollers and front of the dumpster to protect the driveway surface. While these boards prevent most common damages from occurring, it is still possible for the truck or dumpster to sink into asphalt surfaces, especially if the surface is deteriorated, and/or when left for long periods of time in the hot summer months.

While every precaution will be taken to avoid damage, factors beyond our control, such as driveway condition and changing weather conditions increase the odds of damage occurring.

For street placement questions, please see the street placement tab below.

Street Placement of Dumpsters

Placing a dumpster on the street is possible in a few cities, however, in most cases a permit (and payment of permit fees) is required. Most cities prohibit placing dumpsters on the street either by city code or overnight parking ordinances. We are currently able to place dumpsters on the street in the following cities:

  • Anoka – Resident must obtain permit prior to placement.
  • Columbia Heights – $25 permit fee (up to 30 days) + $150 flasher rental deposit
  • Robbinsdale – $50 permit fee 1-7 days, $125 permit fee 8-14 days, $210 for each week after 14 days.
  • St Paul – $7/day permit fee (up to 30 days)

The following cities we’ve confirmed prohibit street placement of dumpsters either through city ordinance or overnight parking regulations:

  • Bloomington – Prohibited by city code
  • Brooklyn Center – Prohibited by overnight parking ordinance
  • Brooklyn Park – Prohibited by city code
  • Dayton – Prohibited by city ordinance
  • Edina – Prohibited by Police code except in extreme scenarios, and requires police chief approval.
  • Maple Grove – Prohibited by city code
  • Minneapolis – (onerous city ordinances/requirements) – contact our office for limited exceptions.
  • New Hope – Prohibited by overnight parking ordinance.
  • Rogers – Prohibited by city code.
  • St Louis Park – Prohibited by city code
  • St Michael – Prohibited by city code

In all cases where street placement is allowed, dumpsters can only be placed where parking would normally be allowed, and cannot be placed where no parking signs exist, within 30′ of intersections, in front of fire hydrants, etc. During the winter months, dumpsters will not be placed on the street due to snow emergency ordinances requiring immediate unscheduled removal of the dumpster following snowfalls.

If your city is not listed above, and you would like to request street placement, please contact our office, and we would be happy to reach out to your city officials to determine whether street placement is allowed, determine permit fees and requirements, and provide our insurance credentials.

Dumpster Loading Tips

Load items lengthwise, enabling more efficient stacking to best utilize the dumpster’s volume. Avoid placing permeable items, or items that are likely to absorb and hold moisture, at the bottom of the dumpster. Items that hold moisture make the net weight of your disposed items heavier, and could result in overweight charges. Generally speaking, the load should be level with the top rail of the dumpster, with minimal “heaping” acceptable, as long as the load can be tarped to prevent items from falling out in transport. None of the load can extend past the front, sides, or rear of the dumpster. Dumpsters with protruding items or loaded beyond “slightly heaped” will be corrected by the driver (at the customer’s expense) or pickup declined (trip fees apply) until corrected by the customer.

Frequently Asked Questions / FAQ

Q: What is the best use for a roll-off dumpster?

A: Roll-off dumpsters can be used for a variety of projects, from their typical use of remodeling or clean-up projects, to providing a convenient method of disposing of unwanted items when moving. A few examples include:

Basement, garage, or attic clean outs

Spring cleaning projects

Disposal of unwanted items when moving

Home renovation or remodeling projects

Roofing tear-offs

Siding or window projects

Commercial or residential construction

Q: What size dumpsters do you offer?

A: For waste and demolition rentals, we offer 10, 14, and 20 yard dumpsters. 10/14yd dumpsters are both 12 feet long, and 7.5 feet wide (inside), the 10 yard units have 39” high side walls, and 14 yard units have 51” high side walls. 20 yard dumpsters measure 14 feet long, 7.5 feet wide, and 5 feet tall (all dimensions are inside measurements).

Q: Can I overfill the roll-off dumpster?

A: Generally speaking, no, as over-filled containers are a risk to the driver, and the general public. Our truck-mounted tarps can contain “minimally heaped” loads that are stable; we will not transport loads with loose items such as boards, cardboard, or light trash loaded above the top of the container. We will not transport a up a unit that has debris protruding past the sides, front, or rear of the dumpster. At the driver’s discretion, we will remove overfilled contents as needed to safely transport the container.

Improperly loaded containers that require adjustments to the load by the driver before they can be safely transported will incur an extra fee. The minimum labor charge to adjust dumpster contents is $50.

Q: How soon can I get a dumpster delivered?

A: We can often times deliver a dumpster as soon as the same day! We generally do not charge extra for same day delivery (the exception being a late day or out of area request). Use the order link above, click on the dumpster size you need, and the calendar will show if a dumpster is available for rental during the time-frame needed.

Same-day delivery is not guaranteed for online orders, but we will always do our best to accommodate! For same day requests, it is always best to contact our office.

In some cases, especially Mondays and Fridays, same day delivery may not be possible due to our workload. Weekend deliveries are rare and subject to staff availability.

If ordering online, deliveries may occur any time between 7am and 6pm on the date selected, though we generally try to complete deliveries by 3pm. As we route each day in the most efficient manner possible, we generally don’t guarantee a specific timeframe within a given day. If you have a specific timing need, please give us a call, and we’ll do our best to accommodate!

Q: When will my dumpster be picked up?

A:Your pick-up date will be scheduled at the time of your order, either online or over the phone. Our low flat rates include up to one week (Monday to Monday for example). Additional time, past the week included, is the lesser of $10/day, or $65/week. If ordering online, these amounts will be calculated automatically when you choose your delivery and pick-up dates.

If you wish to extend an existing rental, please give us at least 2 business days notice to avoid your dumpster being reserved for another customer. If the dumpster has already been reserved and promised to another customer, an extension may not be possible.

Q: Can I cancel or reschedule my rental?

A: Yes! Please contact our office to cancel or reschedule your rental.

  • All cancellations more than 2 business days before the delivery, for reservations made over the phone, will receive a full refund minus a $20 cancellation fee. This fee covers credit card fees paid to our processor, that do not get refunded to us when issuing a refund to your card.
  • All cancellations for reservations made online are charged a $50 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations/rescheduling occurring within 2 business days of the delivery date will be charged a $100 cancellation fee. The only exception to this is if we can rent the dumpster reserved for you, to another customer on short notice, in which case a lower $20 or $50 fee will apply.

Outside of the conditions above, we’re happy to reschedule your rental, without charge, to a time that works better for you!

Q: What areas do you service?

A: We service the most of the twin cities metro area. Most metro locations within 10 road miles of our base in Brooklyn Park, MN is included in our rental costs. Generally speaking, this includes the “western core” of the metro 494/35W loop as well as some west metro suburbs west of 494, and most north metro suburbs along/within the highway 10/610 corridor.

We will provide dumpster services further than 10 miles from Brooklyn Park, but within a 20 mile radius, with payment of an additional trip fee ranging from $40-$100 depending on distance and availability of disposal facilities in the area. This additional charge will be displayed during the checkout process as soon as a “shipping” (delivery) zip code is entered. You can also use the shipping calculator on the cart screen to display any applicable trip fees. This additional fee covers both trips to drop-off and pick-up the dumpster. If no shipping option is displayed, the zip code is outside of our service areas, and service (and applicable mileage charges) will be subject to availability.

We will do our best to accommodate requests beyond 20 miles, subject to staff availability and payment of additional mileage fees. Please call our office if you are outside of this 20 mile radius.

Q: Do you offer long term rentals?

A: Absolutely! We have remodeling contractors and builders that love our “just right” size dumpsters and fast friendly service! Contractors often keep our dumpsters for the duration of their projects, which can sometimes be months long. Our weekly charge is $65/week for as long as you need the dumpster. We also offer discounts on our weekly rate for contractors and repeat customers subject to availability. We only ask that you keep in touch with us during your rental so that we can keep our scheduling updated. Lastly, keep in mind that many cities require a permit for long term dumpster placement, which may incur permit fees.

Q: What things could impact the cost, what could lead to additional charges?

A: With our all-inclusive pricing, the only things that add additional cost are prohibited/bulk items, weight overages, Ramsey/Washington County surcharge and additional rental time. The most common (and most easily avoided) additional charge is labor to remove prohibited items at the time of dumpster pickup. Dumpsters placed on the street also generally incur city permit fees. We do not have any surprise “post rental” fees such as fuel surcharges, administrative fees, convenience fees, credit card fees, compliance fees, fee fees, etc.

Our flat rate pricing displayed online is for up to 1 week rental and disposal up to the weight limits (see the rental page for weight limits). In addition to our flat rates, solid waste management taxes/county environmental fees are charged by the state of Minnesota, as well as Hennepin, Ramsey, and Washington counties. These fees are similar to sales taxes in that they are collected by the vendor (us), and remitted to the respective agencies. Solid waste (trash) incurs percentage based tax/fee, while demolition incurs a minimal volume based tax. To calculate the dumpster cost including these taxes/fees, use the online booking feature, proceed to the checkout page, and enter the shipping zip code of where the dumpster will be delivered to display applicable taxes/fees. This does not book a rental until payment is made.

Mattresses, box springs, couches, chairs/recliners, and tires incur extra fees of $20-100 for each item. Appliances/TV’s incur fees of $50-$100 per item. If these items are not paid for before dumpster pick-up, the driver will either remove them from the container before transport, and you will be charged for the labor to do so, or we may transport and dispose of them and charge accordingly at our discretion. If these items are discovered at the time of dumping, you will be charged our standard fees per item.

Hazardous wastes may not be placed in dumpsters under any circumstances, nor will we risk public safety, dumping facility staff safety, or potential decontamination/cleanup costs by knowingly transporting these items. Any hazardous wastes found in the container at pick-up will be removed by the driver at the customer’s expense. Hazardous wastes found in the dumpster at the time of dumping will incur fees ranging from $400 to several thousand dollars depending on the severity of contamination, cleanup costs assessed by the facility, and whether or not the load is rejected and returned to your property. Hazardous wastes are accepted at most county drop off sites free of charge to residents.

Q: What is the Ramsey/Washington County Surcharge?

A: Effective January 1st, 2024, Ramsey and Washington County increased their disposal rates far above other metro counties and privately operated disposal facilities. Due to county waste designation ordinance, we are unable to avoid this high disposal cost by disposing of MSW (commercial and household trash) from Ramsey and Washington counties by other (cheaper) means. Due to the majority of our customers being in Hennepin and Anoka counties, where our disposal costs are lower, we instituted a surcharge on household and commercial waste rentals occurring in Ramsey and Washington counties, allowing us to keep our base prices for the majority of our customers as low as possible.

Q: Why are Mattress and Box Spring prices so high?

A: All loads we pick up from our customers are hauled directly to transfer stations or landfills, and all disposal facilities charge us extra for mattresses and box springs. In most cases, these facilities are transferring them out to other facilities to dismantle and recycle the materials.

Hennepin County Customers: Effective January 1st, 2024, Hennepin County has increased their fees for mattresses and box springs to $100 per item ($50 in 2023). In order to continue providing $50 mattress/box spring disposal, we require that customers in Hennepin County wishing to dispose of mattresses and box springs in their dumpster to place them on top of all other items in the load, so that they are clearly visible, and may be hauled to non-Hennepin County facilities. Mattresses and Box Springs not visible/discovered in loads delivered to Hennepin County facilities will be billed the $100/each charged to us by Hennepin County.

Q: Can I move the dumpster after it is delivered?

A: No. If you need the dumpster moved after it is delivered, please contact us to make arrangements for us to move it. Attempting to move dumpsters with a vehicle, skid loader, or other equipment could cause damage to the dumpster and the surface underneath it. In addition, moving the dumpster could prevent proper re-loading onto our trucks causing damage to our equipment and/or your property.

Q: What items cannot be placed in a dumpster?

A: Any type of toxic or hazardous waste, such as paint, fluorescent light bulbs/fixtures/ballasts, oil, gas, or other automotive fluids, fertilizers, chemicals, items containing asbestos, etc.

Animal wastes, remains, or carcasses, infectious, biological, or pathological wastes

Batteries of any kind, or cordless devices containing batteries

Compressed gas cylinders, propane tanks, kegs, etc

Household appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, A/C units, dehumidifiers, water softeners, etc.

Electronics such as televisions, computer monitors, printers, copiers, fax machines, etc. or any such items that may contain mercury such as thermostats

Explosives

Liquids of any kind, even if contained, as containers commonly break open during unloading.

Vehicle parts such as motors, transmissions, rear ends, etc

Yard waste, branches, tree debris, stumps, etc.

Tires

If in doubt about anything you want to place in the roll-off, please contact us first. While many items on the prohibited list are uncommon, others are not uncommon when performing activities such as cleaning out a residence, but are not accepted by the facilities we haul to, and in many cases, are regulated by state and local laws. In the case of some of these items, we can still help you dispose of them, but disposal has to occur separately at a different facility and the items cannot be hauled with the rest of the waste.

Prohibited items discovered at the time of pickup will be removed by the driver. Items discovered at the time of dumping, will be billed to the customer/charged to the credit card on file, and range in cost from $20-$100 each. All costs of hazardous waste cleanup, decontamination, etc. due to prohibited items are the customer’s sole responsibility.

Q: Discounts?

A: Absolutely! On top of our already low pricing, we offer discounts for cash payments, as well as military, veteran, police, fire, and teacher discounts. We also discount “swaps” if a customer ends up needing more than one dumpster for their project.

Cash discounts are generally $10-$15, and vary by dumpster usage and size. We’re happy to pass the savings in credit card processing fees back to our customers! If you wish to pay by cash, please contact our office, a credit card number must still be on file in case of overages.

Active service members receive a $30 discount; veterans, police officers, fire fighters, and teachers receive a $15 discount off the base price of most dumpsters (10 yard dumpsters excluded). The coupon codes for these are “veteran”, “police”, “fire”, and “teacher”, and can be used on the checkout page.

The “swap” discount on a second dumpster is $30, and is applied only if “side by side” swap occurs. This discount does not apply if your second dumpster needs to be placed in the same spot as the original or on “empty and returns”. Additionally, we will discount trip charges on second dumpsters depending on location.

Q: How do I pay?

A: We accept payment by cash or credit card. Payment of the rental rate and taxes must be received on or before the delivery date unless you have a credit account with us. If you have an overage discovered after disposal of your materials, the additional charge will be charged to your credit card, charged against your deposit (if ordered online) or invoiced due upon receipt. All rentals, including those paid by cash, must have a credit card on file.

Sorry, we do not accept checks.

Q: Is there a weight limit?

A: Yes, material and dumpster size specific weight limits are as follows:

Household/Commercial waste (trash) 10yd – 2000lbs (1 ton). *

Household/Commercial waste (trash) 14yd – 3000lbs (1.5 tons). *

Household/Commercial waste (trash) 20yd – 4000lbs (2 tons). *

Construction/demolition debris 10yd – 2000lbs (1 ton). **

Construction/demolition 14yd – 3500lbs (1.75 tons). **

Construction/demolition 20yd – 6000lbs (3 tons). **

* Additional charges of $110 per ton (2000lbs), billed in 20lb increments, apply to overweight household waste loads.

** Additional charges of $80 per ton (2000lbs), billed in 20lb increments, apply to overweight construction/demolition loads.

The maximum weight of any load must not exceed 4 tons without authorization from our office. If you have a project involving brick, concrete, gravel, or roofing, please contact our office. Due to our smaller trucks used in typical day to day dumpster pick-ups and deliveries, we may or may not be able to accommodate loads exceeding 4 tons requiring our larger truck.

Loads exceeding first listed weight limits but not exceeding a maximum weight of 4 tons will be transported and charged overweight charges. Loads exceeding maximum limits will not be picked up until corrected, as we will not exceed the rated limits of our equipment/licensing.

Q: Can different materials be mixed in one load?

A: Generally, no, as loads are hauled to different facilities depending on what they contain, and s facilities handle only certain kinds of loads.

If you’re renting a dumpster to be disposed of as construction debris, any household waste (commonly referred to as trash, MMSW or mixed municipal solid waste) placed in the container, will cause the whole load to be disposed of as MMSW, and charged accordingly, with lower weight limits, and applicable taxes/environmental fees applied. While our base rates are the same for demolition debris and MMSW, the taxes and weight limits are not.

Household trash loads in most counties may contain construction/demolition debris. Household trash loads in Hennepin County may only contain minimal amounts of carpet, tile, concrete, or drywall. Hennepin County disposal facilities may reject mixed loads containing significant amounts of carpet, tile, concrete or drywall.

Demolition loads may contain small amounts of concrete, tile, brick, or dirt, or gravel (keep the weight limits in mind). Loads containing more than a yard of these materials will not be transported.

Compost and yard waste cannot be placed in any demolition or household waste dumpsters; processing facilities are unable to sort these loads, and will reject loads with mixed materials. Compost, tree branches, and yard debris must be recycled separately in accordance with state law.

Dumpsters rented for roofing materials may contain other demolition debris, but may not contain any household trash or yard waste.

Q: How do your dumpsters compare to bagsters?

A: We’ve all seen the big green bags, so they must be a good value right? The answer is as loaded as the question…

No doubt, the bagster is marketing genius at work, but from our experience, they’re only a good value if you have a very small amount of stuff/debris to dispose of. Bagsters hold a maximum of 3 yards, and ask anyone who’s ever thrown anything away how quickly a bagster, dumpster, pickup truck, etc fills up, and you’ll quickly realize they’re not a good value for the consumer. Take the initial cost of the bag ($30), combined with the $150+ pickup cost, and you have an effective “per yard” rate of $50+. Compared to our 10 and 14 yard dumpsters at our fixed rates, the cost per yard via bagster is significantly higher than the cost of a dumpster ($37/yard in our 10 yard dumpster, and $29/yard for our 14 yard). Add to this the fact that bags are clumsy and hard to fill compared to a dumpster, the irresponsibility in adding more plastic to our landfills unnecessarily, and the notion of spending $30 on something just to throw it away, we believe the bagster is bad for the consumer’s wallet and the environment. We won’t even get started with how profitable bagsters are for waste management having to only visit the customer property once for pickup, rather than twice for traditional dumpster drop off and pickup. Then again, if all you need to dispose of is less than 3 yards (about the volume of a pickup truck bed), the bagster comes out cheaper than renting a dumpster. With our experience of our customers rarely wishing they had ordered a smaller dumpster, and the fact that most bagster customers rarely have just one by their curb, we’d say the big green bag is a great idea… for it’s inventor!
